PSL 10 will now be completed in Karachi, following a decision by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to relocate all remaining matches due to increasing security concerns along the country’s eastern frontier.
The move comes as the situation between India and Pakistan grows more volatile, prompting fears over the safety of players and venues.
Cities like Lahore and Rawalpindi, previously set to host the playoff stages, have been classified as high-risk areas.
Karachi, with its recent history of successfully hosting major events and relatively stable environment, has been chosen as the new venue for all fixtures.
Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi chaired the key meeting that led to this decision, with all franchise representatives and officials in attendance.
Stakeholders were briefed on the security risks and the importance of continuity for PSL 10, especially during a time of national tension.
While the decision has been supported across the board, minor logistical challenges remain, particularly concerning the movement of overseas players. Some foreign cricketers have quietly voiced concerns, but most are expected to remain, reassured by promises of high-level security including military escorts and restricted access areas.
PSL 10 had already seen several matches played in Karachi, which was not initially expected to host the final rounds.
